I’ve just started renting a beautiful mansion flat but it is in my agreement not to hang things on the wall. How can I make the most of all the space and the high ceilings?

Emma says: ‘It’s always worth asking your landlord/lady directly if you were to hang things professionally and that would be sympathetic to the building whether this would be allowed. However, if the answer is no then I would look at investing in some key pieces to fill the flat. As you have the space, think big! Big sofas, big wardrobes, lots of accessories – all these will fill your rooms and help them feel less cold. I would invest in some huge mirrors that you would be able to lean against your wall.
